Bollywood actress-turned-author Twinkle Khanna is known for her unapologetic personality. She doesn’t shy away from calling spade a spade. She is often seen sharing her life experiences and funny anecdotes on social media and during her interactions with other celebrities. She recently opened up about her first paid job as a fish delivery person, and how people reacted to her talking about it on her chat show The Icons.

During her interaction with Johnny Lever, Twinkle was talking to the comedian about his earliest job. The daughter of veteran actors Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia, spoke about how her first paid job was far from the glamorous world that she grew up in. Recalling her first job, she explained how she would deliver fish and prawns to people’s houses. Quoted by Indian Express, she said, “My grandmother’s sister had a fish company. That was my first job. Once, the 48-year-old spoke about this, Lever opened up about his difficult childhood as he grew up in the slums of Dharavi. He recalled how he would find any and every job so that he could make ends meet for his family. Having an alcoholic father, his family had to ask his uncle for money for their household expenses. From selling pens on the street to working in a liquor shop, he would give most of the money that he earned to his family. ALSO READ: WHAT! Shedding light on how he used to sell pens on the footpath, he said, “I used to sell pens on the footpath. When the pens wouldn’t sell, I would mimic the actors and that’s how I would make a sale.”

For the unversed, Twinkle quit acting to focus on her family after she tied the knot with Akshay Kumar in 2001. She ventured into writing books and has written Mrs Funnybones (2015), The Legend Of Lakshmi Prasad (2017) and Pyjamas Are Forgiving, a book that will be released this year.
